- Click "Add to Chrome" and confirm the permissions
- You'll see the Applyday checkmark icon appear in your Chrome toolbar (top-right)
- Click the puzzle icon in Chrome and pin Applyday for easy access
Tip: After installing, visit any job posting on Greenhouse, LinkedIn, Indeed, or Lever. You'll see the Applyday toolbar appear at the bottom of the page.
Before using any features, set up your profile so Applyday knows your background. You have two options:
Option A: Import from Resume (Recommended)
- Click the Applyday icon in your Chrome toolbar to open the popup
- Go to the Profile tab
- Click "Choose file" in the import box
- Select your resume (PDF, DOCX, or TXT)
- Wait 3-5 seconds — AI automatically extracts your name, email, skills, work history, and education
- Review the pre-filled fields and fix anything that looks wrong
- Click "Save profile"
Option B: Enter Manually
- Scroll past the import section to the manual form
- Fill in your personal info (name, email, phone, city)
- Add your professional details (current title, years of experience, skills)
- Write a brief experience summary
- Click "Save profile"
Tip: The more detail you add (especially skills and work history), the better your generated resumes and match scores will be.
Want to know if a job is worth applying to? Score Match tells you instantly.
- Open any job posting (Greenhouse, LinkedIn, Indeed, etc.)
- Look for the Applyday toolbar at the bottom of the page
- Click the green "Score Match" button
- Wait 3-5 seconds while AI analyzes the job description against your profile
- See your results: match score (0-100), matched keywords, skill gaps, and a verdict
What the scores mean
80-100: Strong match — apply with confidence
60-79: Good match — worth applying, highlight transferable skills
40-59: Moderate match — consider if you're passionate about the role
Below 40: Weak match — you may want to focus on better-fitting roles
Tip: Pay attention to the "Missing Keywords" section. These are skills from the job description that aren't in your profile. If you have them but forgot to add them, update your profile!
Stop typing your name, email, and phone into every application. Let Applyday do it.
- Open a job application form (click "Apply" on any job posting)
- Click "Fill" on the Applyday toolbar
- Your saved profile data fills into matching form fields instantly
- Review the filled fields and make any adjustments
Fields that auto-fill
First name, last name, email, phone, city, state, country, LinkedIn URL, GitHub URL, portfolio URL, and more. The extension intelligently matches field labels on any job site.
Note: Always review auto-filled fields before submitting. Some sites have custom field formats that may need manual adjustment.
Each job is different. Applyday rewrites your resume to match the specific job description, maximizing your ATS keyword score.
- Open the job posting you want to apply to
- Click "Resume" on the Applyday toolbar
- Wait 5-10 seconds while GPT-4o analyzes the JD and rewrites your resume
- See the preview with your ATS Score (keyword match percentage)
- Click "Download PDF" to save a professional PDF
- Upload the PDF to the job application form
What makes it special
Applyday never fabricates experience. It takes your real work history and rewrites bullet points to emphasize the skills and keywords that match the job description. Your companies, titles, and dates stay exactly the same.
Tip: The ATS Score banner shows how many job description keywords appear in your tailored resume. Aim for 70% or higher for the best chance of passing automated screening.
A personalized cover letter in seconds, not hours.
- Open the job posting
- Click "Cover Letter" on the toolbar
- Wait 5-8 seconds for AI to generate a 3-paragraph letter
- Review the result — it uses your real work history and matches the company's needs
- Click "Copy" to paste into the application, or "Download PDF" for a formatted version
Tip: The cover letter references specific aspects of the job description and connects them to your experience. It's a great starting point — feel free to add a personal touch before submitting.
Your personal AI career coach. Ask anything about the job you're looking at.
- Click "Ask" on the toolbar (or the chat bubble icon)
- A chat modal opens with quick-action buttons
- Click a preset question or type your own
- Get an instant, context-aware answer based on the job description + your profile
Preset questions
"Should I apply?" — honest assessment of your fit
"What am I missing?" — skills gaps to address
"Why is this a fit?" — talking points for interviews
"Salary range?" — market rate estimate for the role
"Rewrite my summary" — optimized professional summary
"Interview questions" — likely questions you'll be asked
Tip: Try asking "Give me 5 reasons I'm qualified for this role" before an interview. It's a great confidence booster and helps you prepare talking points.
On a job listing page with multiple postings? Let Applyday rank them all by how well they match your profile.
- Go to a job listing page (e.g., a company careers page with multiple roles)
- Click "Find Matches" on the toolbar
- Choose a timeframe filter (Today, This week, etc.)
- Applyday scans all visible jobs, sends them to AI, and ranks them by match score
- Click any job title to open it directly
Note: This feature works on listing pages with multiple jobs, not on individual job posting pages. If you're on a single job page, use "Score Match" instead.
Many applications have open-ended questions like "Why do you want to work here?" Applyday can draft answers for you.
- Open a job application form
- Scroll to any open-ended text question (textarea fields)
- Look for the "Generate answer" button that appears below the text box
- Click it — AI writes a tailored response using the job description and your profile
- Review and edit the answer before submitting
Tip: Always personalize the generated answer. Add a specific anecdote or detail that only you would know. This makes it authentic and memorable.
Track your job search progress and stay motivated.
- Click the Applyday icon in your toolbar
- Select the "Dashboard" tab
- See your stats: jobs analyzed, good fits found, average match score
- View your recent activity log
- Use the Quick Job Sites launcher to jump to LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor and more
